Poole has been an important harbour town since the 13th Century and the quay still has great charm. It is from here (and Sandbanks) that Poole’s famous yellow boats depart on their trips around the local coastline. These trips take in places such as charming Swanage, which was the centre of the local stone industry in Roman times, Wareham, with a history dating back over 2,000 years, and of course, with interest dating back far further, the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
